Stepping it Up A Notch

This morning we stepped it up a notch or maybe two or three!!  There's only 2.5 more weeks left in the contest, and the team has almost 2 full months of work and discipline behind them.  They've grown in so many ways, and they continue to keeping pushing through.  This also means we are running out of time together and we need to make the most out of every second we have left together.  So, I told the team this am, that we are taking their remaining workouts to a whole new level.  The were pushed much harder this am than they have been so far, but they all succeeded once again!  Most importantly, I want to remind everyone on this team, that I am not putting anything in front of you that you cannot do.  You are all an inspiration and your hard work and dedication is paying off and will continue to pay off.  We just need to keep using the time we have together to the fullest.  You are about to see even further limits that you never thought possible, but what you are about to see, is that you can and will surpass these limits!

You are Commited!

I know that some of you feel like you aren't reaching your goals fast enough ... But what is most important is that you are commited to your goals, and you WILL reach them.  Have trust in yourself and what you are doing and you will get there!  Keep pushing and working as hard as you can, and make good healthy choices and you will get there when you are meant to get there

New Challenge for Circuit Week

This am I decided the team needed a little extra motivation to really hustle from one station to the next ... so that meant every time I saw someone walk from one station to the next instead of jog or hop or hustle in some way, that was 10 burpees the whole team had to do.  Well, I was rather generous in my counting of burpees this am since it was the first time doing that, but we still had 80 burpees to do.  In essence of time, we completed 40 of those burpees today and we will finish the other 40 later in the week, hoping they don't add more to the total on Thurs and Fri or we may have one whole workout day full of burpees!  Well, it's a fun way to motivate them to actually hustle from station to the next and take advantage of all of the time they have, since it really isn't much.  Keep hustling Red Dawn!  We only have 4 weeks left in the competition so each minute of each workout counts!

Practice

Last week we took a little break from the cardio/strength combos we have been working on and we changed our focus to inside with yoga and pilates .... It's pretty safe to say that every person on the team found some new part of their body that they never thought they could use before!  But even harder for most, we asked all of the contestants to look inside.  I assigned them a journal entry per day where they reflect on how they are feeling and how they can take the positive energy and thoughts we've been discussing into their lives going forward.  This contest isn't just about losing the pounds right now.  It's about creating a happy healthy lifestyle that each and every one of the teammates can continue to pursue after the ten weeks is over.  That means dealing with some internal battles and becoming aware of inner struggles and forgiving yourself for the bad choices made in the past.  It's about continuing to practice healthy living into the future.  Knowing that it is that, a practice.  There will always be struggles, but hopefully each person took at least one positive message from last week and can carry that with them as they move on.

I Believe That You're Great

I Believe That You're Great

"I believe that you're great, that there's something magnificent about you. Regardless of what has happened to you in your life, regardless of how young or how old you think you might be, the moment you begin to think properly, there's something that is within you, there's power within you, that's greater than the world. It will begin to emerge. It will take over your life. It will feed you. It will clothe you. It will guide you, protect you, direct you, sustain your very existence, if you let it. Now, that is what I know for sure."
